Baloch youth must prefer “education” over militancy

Tribal chieftain phenomenon deteriorated

The Baloch had been traditional in his outlook and in way of life with a ‘tribal head’ looking after his amelioration. And the ‘tribal head’ of yore had always been considerate with selflessness as his hallmark when it would come to do good for his tribesmen. Over the period of time the tribal chieftain turned as politician guarding his narrow interests and making State serve him rather than the people at large. The English had also pacified the ‘tribal chief’ with no concern whether he (tribal head) is kind or unkind to his tribesmen. His posterity was educated abroad or in then united India’s renowned educational institutions. The same soul’s posterity is now obstructive to common Baloch’s rise in any sphere of life.

Baloch youth accord priority to education

The ongoing unrest in Balochistan might have roots or a history so does have the tribal heads’ insincerity with their people of tribe. By and large the same people voted them to legislative assemblies time and again but they disappointed them in return. Shortcomings in the system might be there but these tribal chiefs-cum-politicians have been hamstringing the pace of progress by denying good governance and then passing the buck.

Available opportunities for youth: –

  • Youngsters must move out of rural Balochistan to urban pockets for the sake of education or get education from good institutions in rest of the provinces.
  • Residential Colleges in Balochistan are the best educational institutes for that matter.
  • Cadet Colleges being run under the supervision of Pakistan army are offering educational opportunities to avail.
  • Cadet College Ormara being run under the supervision of Pakistan Navy with 85% local enrolment  is matchless in imparting education and inculcating self-confidence in cadets.
  • Military College Sui is running on the same pattern as Military College Jhelum. College is enrolling local students with a view to prepare the cadets for being recruited in Pakistan armed forces or join other professional universities.
  • Schools/ colleges being run by FC in Balochistan are rendering exemplary educational services.
  • By now a number of universities including marine/ agriculture varsity Uthal are functioning with over 85% intake from the local populace.
  • Higher Education Commission (HEC) has been advertizing from time to time scholarships for students domiciled in Balochistan in various disciplines including scholarships to receive education abroad.
  • Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan holds much for Balochistan

Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan launched by central government has much programmes under its ambit to bring forward Balochistan. “Kachi Canal” originating from Guddu Barrage has been General (R) Musharraf era’s very good initiative to irrigate vast tracks of barran land so that local economy is strengthened. CPEC is a quite fresh concept promising huge socio-economic uplift in Balochistan and in other provinces of country. Educated Baloch youth must have harvest/ benefit from CPEC.

Feudal vs education  Baloch youth to stand for the latter

Baloch youth must not bank upon the so-called feudalistic consolation of tribal heads. Simultaneously, must not fall as victim to slogans of the saboteurs who are paid (by hostile elements) to sabotage the auspicious pace of development. Education is the only source to take the youth out of the feudal dominated social milieu and the slavery written for youth in the book of the feudal can only is erased when youth is educated and aware of the treacherous role of the so-called tribal heads/ big-wigs.
