Chairman’s Message

Rabita Forum International was established on 5th May 2005 in Karachi with a vision outlined in this brochure. In its early days, the forum addressed critical issues through seminars, notably the Israeli aggression seminar and the seminar on the “Clash of Civilization” in March 2006, attended by intellectuals, judges, military personnel, civil scholars, religious scholars, and politicians.

In 2008, Rabita Forum International played a role in improving Pakistan-India relations by organizing two seminars:

Democracy and Peace: The Future of South Asia:
Distinguished participants from India and Pakistan shared their views on democracy and peace. Notable figures included Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Member Lok Sabha, India; Professor Abdur Raheem, Osmania University, Hyderabad; Senator Raza Rabbani; Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Minister of Education, Sindh; and Ms. Shazia Maree, Minister of Information, Sindh.

Role of Media in South Asian Politics:
Held on November 27, 2008, this seminar featured prominent Indian journalists. Despite the Mumbai attacks on November 26, 2008, the people of Karachi condemned the attack, impressing Indian journalists. This contributed to reducing tensions between the two countries.

Rabita Forum International continued its efforts with seminars on “No to FMCT,” “FMCT – Problems & Prospects,” “Energy Security of Pakistan,” and “Pakistan’s Political Crisis in the World Scenario.” These endeavors aimed to express intellectuals’ viewpoints, educate society on energy security, and address political crises.

The forum remains dedicated to its mission and looks forward to the cooperation of the people of Pakistan and organizations in advancing positive activities.
